The Pine is of a high quality and treated with a lacquer finish. The natural wood of the beds has darkened with time to a lovely honey colour. We have two sets of these - 4 beds. The Maxi range was Thuka's premier range. Only top quality wood was used and the range was designed to provide maximum stability. The fixing system ensures that the bed is extremely sturdy and stable whether it is in its single bed format or erected as bunk beds. The stilt system which is used to extend the single bed benefits from steel bolt fixings which securely couple the bed legs to the extensions. This leads to unparalleled stability and easy conversion (if required). The really cool thing about the Thuka Maxi system is that if your circumstances change you don't necessarily have to change your child’s bed. If your children want to move into separate rooms simply uncouple the two single beds you have in your bunk system and both the kids have a bed. Add a couple of mid-sleeper kits and they both have a raised bed or you could add another two single beds to return to having bunk beds but this time for each child’s room. The beds come with extra height bed bumper safety rails for top and bottom beds; a clip on table with blue frame and a blue safety pack with handrails for the ladder plus glow in the dark tread gripper strips. These are all extras. The maxi range is very easy to erect but here’s a tip to help you. Whether you are building bunk-beds, a mid-sleeper or a high-sleeper the build process becomes far easier if you first start with the bed ends. We have the build instructions and they will be included with the sale of the beds.
